Snowy January Day

Today in Alabama we experienced something very rare... SNOW!  

I know to some of you snow is nothing exciting, but rather a pain. Here, all the weather man has to do is mention the word snow and people go crazy! It has been quite a while since we have had a snow that actually stuck to the ground for more than 5 seconds.

I am not lying about Alabamians going cray cray over snow! For some reason we think we must have milk and bread if snow is coming. I am not sure why and I don't think they understand either, but it's something you just do. haha. This is a local grocery store right after the snow started coming down.. 

This is no lie. I am sure by closing tonight they were totally out of bread! 

I started out the day mad that every other school around us was getting delayed for school and we were still going at regular time. By 9:30am I was rejoicing along my students that we were getting out of school at 11:00. 

How did I spend my afternoon?

First, by going to get lunch with my mom and grandparents. By the time we left the restaurant the snow was really starting to come down. I rolled my window down to take quick picture of the snow that was falling and snow blew in the car really fast! 

During this time my brother was sending me pictures from the University of Alabama. He had taken Polo out to play in the snow!

It snowed quite a bit in Tuscaloosa. Here is a look inside the UA football stadium.. 

Once I got home, I decided to catch up on some shows on the dvr.... well after the first 5 mins of Pretty Little Liars I fell asleep. After my nap, I went to spend time with the boyfriend. Later that night I found out we were delayed for school this morning by 3 hours! I love sleeping in so I was super excited!

I had a very similar reaction when my high school juniors found out they were getting out of school early!

I bet you find humor in our snow excitement. I usually love making snow cream (snow, milk, sugar and vanilla extract) but I forgot to go get some today. Have any of you ever had snow cream?

The Weekend of One too Many Puppies

Happy Tuesday! Sorry I didn't blog yesterday, I had gotten behind on my lesson plans and school related stuff, but I will be going back and reading posts from yesterday! So how did your super bowl weekend go? Were you happy the Giants won and what did you think about the half time show with Madonna? I have heard both good and bad, but overall I think to be in her fifties she was dancing well. My weekend revolved around puppies, Polo, cousins and football!

Polo came home this weekend so we went with me pretty much everywhere I went :)

This might not be the best picture I have ever taken but...

speaking of one too many puppies:

Our outside dog has had a "friend" around ever since Christmas or before

We thought this friend was a male dog... no "she" had puppies this weekend 

in our garage, but we are not sure that our dog is the father.

She is a border collie and he is weenie/lab (weird I know)

He has a lot of brown on him and these puppies are all black and white

Nevertheless we now have puppies for the time being.

My parents were not too happy about the situation, ha.

As I write this (Monday night) the new show, Smash is on

I have recorded The Bachelor, The Voice and Smash.

I watched The Voice after the Superbowl and loved it.

I watched a little last season, but I hope to watch it all this time around.

I really do enjoy getting compliments on them everywhere I go

Including being stopped in Home Depot!

It's Ok... that I bought a really cute Nicole Miller Bathing Suit cover up tonight

and I fully intend to wear it as a dress tomorrow

with a sweater and leggings of course.

The print is similar but not the same and mine is strapless

It's Ok... that I have to get up early to be at a teacher meeting in the morning

but I plan to stay up like usual-

I can never get everything done that I need to

It's Ok... that I am addicted to watching the Bachelor

I don't know what it is bc like you all I hate the drama but yet

I watch every week and get sucked in! 

I really want to know who win, but I am trying to wait it out

It's Ok... that I have been rearranging my room and

there is piles of stuff that I do not know what to do with

and yet I still want to go shopping every day-- problem!

It's Ok... that I am really excited about seeing this little man this weekend

IT'S OK... due to being out work on Monday the rest of my week as been
kinda dull and I just don't feel like doing anything!

The Day I Almost Burnt the House Down

Yesterday was a good day and then I almost burnt the house down

It was a really stupid mistake, one that I should have known better

My mom made candy apples yesterday morning 

When I got home there was some candy left in the pot

Well you all know that candy hardens so I was going to melt it to eat

I turned on the stove top to high thinking I would go back in a few mins

Then I decided to wash my hair since I wasn't going to be home till late

BIG MISTAKE

When I was in the shower I kept smelling something like burnt popcorn

Earlier that day when I was subbing all of my classes made popcorn

Some popcorn burnt so I thought it was my hair smelling like it

After I took my sweet time towel drying my hair, I opened the door and..

Smoke was all the way down the hallway of our bedrooms

I panicked and ran into the kitchen, the smoke was so thick in the kitchen and living room I could barely see

I noticed there wasn't a fire, but I quickly turned off the stove

My pot looked like this and was smoking awful

I had to rush to open all the windows, doors and attic fan

Of course, my parents were not to happy about this

My mom thinks it was fixing to catch on fire

I am so glad I went out when I did, I know this is a stupid mistake

I have heard all my life, "do not put anything on the stove and then leave"

I didn't know it would do something like this, well you live and learn

Have any of you done anything like this before?

When you should have known better?!

Moving on the another hot topic, haha

I went to see Breaking Dawn this weekend, I thought it was great

I can not wait for the next one!

Here Wes and I are eating at Red Lobster before the movie

I am sure you all loved it too, I haven't heard anything bad about it

Guess who has already came home for Thanksgiving:

my brother and... Polo! I am so excited :)

I can't believe Thanksgiving is in 2 days!

Then its shopping time!!

Weekend Recap, Dog Owners Please Read!

I told you I would post pictures from my fabulous weekend!

I got to see my little fur-baby, but more on him later

Even though I went to Panama City, I didn't actually go to the beach.

We went to watch my cousin play in the band for her last football game of the season.

They did a Veterans program and it was really good!

Saturday, Ansley marched in a Veteran's Parade. Then we went shopping! 

I bought an awesome pumpkin spiced candle at my favorite store... 

We also went to Chilis that day. We knew it could be crowded because they were feeding the veterans for free, so we got there really early. We did have to wait awhile for our food because they were very crowded. When the waiter brought our bill, it said $68.00 and below it said $0.00. The Panama City Chilis was feeding everyone that came in for free on Veterans Day. I thought this was such a kind gesture!! So if you are ever in the area go by and visit them, the staff was very nice!

On Sunday, My boyfriend and I headed to Tuscaloosa to see my brother and my puppy!

Polo has gotten so much bigger in the past 2 weeks. :(

While I was in PC I bought him a shirt with a santa hat on it

I thought it would be perfect for our Christmas picture.

We put it on him and he just froze and wouldn't move at all!

My brother would call him and he would just lay still and cry. 

We put him in the floor thinking he might stand up or do something.. no he just laid there.

He looks so pitiful in the pictures. haha 

We pulled the hood off and he finally raised his head but still nothing

Has any of your dogs ever done this?

We decided to take it off because he just wasn't himself

Maybe this will work well during our Christmas picture, but how do I break him from it after that?

I figured the doggie parents would be the best people to ask about this
